The Program encourages Fraser Valley residents to exchange non-EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) certified wood burning stoves or inserts for low emissions appliances, including new CSA/CEPA certified wood stoves/inserts, or other qualifying appliances. Program participants are eligible to receive a $250 rebate, providing that their old appliance has been rendered non-reusable and has been recycled. All fireplaces sold in Canada have an EnerGuide™ label that tells you how energy efficient it is. Purchase an eligible EnerChoice fireplace, then have it installed by a gas contractor registered with the BC Safety Authority and you may be eligible to receive a $300 rebate. Upgrading your old wood stove can earn you a rebate with the Metro-Vancouver Wood Stove Exchange Program!

Metro Vancouver residents can receive a rebate for trading in their old uncertified wood burning appliance for a new low-emission one. Rebates of $250 & $350 are available depending on your upgrade. Metro-Vancouver advises that funding is limited and will be issued to qualifying residents on a first come, first served basis.
